FAQs

Are we affiliated with Starlink by SpaceX?

We, Drewdon Pty Ltd trading as Interstellar Installs are not affiliated with SpaceX’s Starlink(™).

How much does an installation cost?

The complexity of the job - depending on the number of stories and roofing material - affects the installation cost, but a standard single story tin roof  installation (Type 1) costs $549. There is also the option of a $150 site survey if you would prefer for one of our technicians to assess your installation site before purchasing a complete installation.

Do we provide the Starlink Terminal (Dish)?

No. At Interstellar Installs we offer the service of installing your Starlink terminal/dish which can be ordered from www.starlink.com

Do I need to purchase a mount separately?

No. The mount is included in the installation fee. When our technician arrives at your property, they will assess the environment and select a mounting system that sufficiently accommodates your building. See below our different mounting methods.

What Areas do we cover?

We install Starlinks Australia wide!

Can I have the Starlink mounted with the tripod that it comes with?

We advise against mounting with the included tripod mount. These devices are more suited for temporary/mobile installations on a lawn or patio area.

What if I already own a Starlink Volcano Mount?

If you already own a Starlink volcano mount, contact us via email at info@interstellarinstalls.com.au and we will provide a discount code for $50 off the Complete Installation Package to be used at checkout.
If you are unsure whether the volcano mount will suit your particular installation, include a photo of the install location in the email and we can advise whether the volcano mount will suffice, or whether a Interstellar Installs mount should be used.

How long will it take your technician to complete the Starlink installation?

Installation times can vary depending on the complexity of the job, and the nature of the building.  The general timeframe for the installation is less than 3 hours, including complete internet operation.

Will you need to drill a hole through my roof and/or wall?

Yes. To achieve best results, the Starlink dish will be installed externally. Wireless routers are located inside, thus meaning that our technicians will need to drill minor holes for connectivity. However, the connecting wires are generally completely concealed within the walls and are therefore undetectable.

*If you live in a rental property, please ensure permission is granted from the building owner to have a Starlink dish installed.

After installation, how long until my internet service is up and running?

In most cases, your Wi-Fi should be connected within a few minutes following the installation. Before our technician leaves the premises, they will ensure that you are satisfied with your new high-speed connection.

Will my Starlink router provide Wi-Fi coverage for the whole of my property?

For most homes, your Starlink Wi-Fi should cover the entire house. There may be instances in larger buildings, however, where Wi-Fi boosters or additional routers are required for complete coverage. If you suspect this could be the case for you, please contact us prior to installation to discuss further.

Can I order a Interstellar Installs mount by itself?

Our Interstellar Installs mounts are exclusively available as part of our installation package. Our Interstellar Installs mounts are designed for scenarios where the Starlink volcano or tripod mounts will not suffice. As a result, our mounts require in-depth knowledge of how they should be installed to achieve optimal results.
